The purpose of the Office Specialist is to complete administrative duties for the Sauk County Health Care Center (HCC) and to provide human resources support for the Sauk County Personnel Department. 


*Monday - Thursday / 30 hours a week with FT benefits 
*Flexible hours as long as they are during the 8:00am to 4:30pm business hours
*2 days in Baraboo office and 2 days in Reedsburg office weekly

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Assist with recruitment related tasks with coordination of Human Resources Specialist. Review applications, hire and schedule orientation for new employees at the Sauk County HCC.
  • Complete the payroll-based journal (PBJ) submissions to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • Assist in maintaining and filing Sauk County employee personnel files, applicant I-9, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action information.
  • Assist in entering compensation and personal data for new hires, classification changes, probationary and annual increases, employee benefit and payroll changes, and new employee information to computer data base. 
  • Create monthly newsletters and participate in the Sauk County Health Care Center Sunshine Club.
  • Oversee staff (including new hires) licensures, performance appraisals, background checks, reference checks and pre-employment testing. 
  • Oversee Sauk County Health Care Center’s annual training requirements for staff.
  • Create training courses in TalentLMS for county staff to complete.
  • Create social media posts and monitor activity for Sauk County.  
  • And other duties as assigned

Required Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.  Please note these hours are subject to change and additional hours may be needed or required.  Compensation for additional hours beyond normal working hours are subject to applicable state and federal regulations.

 

Minimum Training and Education

 

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

3-5 years of related work experience

 

License:               

Valid Wisconsin State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

 

Preferred:

Associates degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field

 

Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
