POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the general accounting functions, job cost accounting functions, treasury management, payroll processes, financial reporting, budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Essential Functions
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
Prepare consolidated financial statements and all related reports and information according to GAAP and present the information to the Owners of the company on a monthly interim basis.
Analyze financial data to identify trends and assess performance.
Forecast revenue and expenses.
Prepare all accounting entries required to ensure statements are prepared according to GAAP.
Provide financial analyses as needed.
Provide treasury management and cash flow analysis.
Review job cost and labor reports with the project management staff and update the cost-to- complete information on a monthly basis. Monitor variances.
Ensure all necessary internal controls are in place to protect company assets.
Ensure compliance to all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and corporate policies.
Ensure all sales and use tax compliance is followed and returns are prepared as required by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
Ensure all 1099 / 1096 forms are filed annually and all compliance requirements are followed.
File corporate annual reports with the State.
Address any IRS correspondence and resolve issues.
Oversee the office payroll and oversee entire payroll process including the preparation of all federal and state payroll tax returns including W-2, W-3, Form 940, Form 941, and State Unemployment.
Update payroll overhead allocation rates based on the annual budget. Review rates annually.
Update estimating database for pay rates and overhead amounts based on budgets and changes to worker compensation and field staff pay rates.
Update Time and Material billing rates based on budget allocation rates, worker compensation rates and field staff pay rates for estimating.
Provide timely financial reporting to and at the direction of the President.
Perform internal audits.
Audit coordination with external CPA firm.
Continually look for improvements that will provide efficiencies to the company.
Banking relationship management.
Company insurance (general and worker’s compensation).
401K Reporting, weekly deposits, annual test.
Annual worker’s compensation audit.
Organization of Time Allocation:
General and job cost accounting 40%
Financial analysis, treasury management, budgeting and forecasting 40%
At the direction of the President 10%
Payroll administration oversight and compliance 5%
General management 5%

QUALIFICATIONS OR SIMILAR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
CCIFP, CMA or CPA certification required with a minimum of 3-5 years of financial management experience.
Knowledge of construction accounting and contracting processes to include subcontracts, purchase orders, bonds, lien waivers, change orders, and submittals.
Knowledge of Sage 300 software and project management modules.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
